On Father's Day, Brian Tamaki, the leader of Freedoms NZ, rallied hundreds of fathers and families to gather outside the National Party campaign launch at Due Drop Events Centre. Standing before a crowd of National Party faithful, Brian Tamaki delivered a passionate speech, addressing critical issues facing the nation and challenging National Party leader Christopher Luxon.
Tamaki’s speech, titled “Save our Kids, Save our Babies, Save our Nation” was met with widespread support by many present and online, including National Party supporters in attendance. Some senior National supporters stated that they supported everything Brian Tamaki was saying, and it was their intention from the floor to challenge National Party leader Christopher Luxon on the importance of Christian family values.
Tamaki begun his speech by challenging the venue selection for today’s campaign launch. “You’ve come into my backyard Mr Luxon. You are talking about tax cuts for the squeezed middle, and you’re forgetting about the squashed bottom. You are in the heart of South Auckland, yet you’ve never walked around South Auckland except for a photo op.”
In his compelling speech, Tamaki declared, "Everything comes back to family breakdown. As fathers today, we are taking a bold stand, representing approximately one million Kiwi fathers. We demand that our families be protected, our nation restored, and, most importantly, that God be brought back into our nation. We are Fathers bringing back GOD, FAMILY & NATION!"
Tamaki often highlights the catastrophic consequences of family breakdown, citing domestic violence, suicides, youth offending, police presence in schools, a broken court system, and the high cost of living as its manifestations. Family breakdown is estimated to cost taxpayers $2 billion per year, a cost that has doubled since 2008, amounting to approximately $21 billion over the past 12 years.
Tamaki drew a distinction between the National Party’s historical centre-right position and it’s new centre-left direction. “National is now just Labour in drag. He boldly declared Freedoms NZ as the only party that truly upholds centre-right values, stating, “National is an accidental government, only because Kiwis wants to see Labour gone.” He went on to state, “Don’t be too smug – Kiwis are only thinking of giving National their vote because they don’t realise there is another choice. Freedoms NZ is that choice!”
“There is an addiction where people think they can only vote National or Labour. This addiction has existed for 88 years. National is still trying to ride that addiction ‘high’ – maybe National’s billboards should more accurately read ‘Get our country back on crack!’”
Turning his attention to Christopher Luxon, Tamaki issued a challenge, saying, "Will the real Mr. Luxon please stand up? We don't know what you stand for, Mr. Luxon! Are you going to represent Christian family values in Parliament, or are you a secret Christian?”
Brian Tamaki also raised concerns about the Transgender Agenda, urging Luxon to clearly state that he will remove the 'Relationships and Sexuality Education' curriculum from schools, which pushes the transgender agenda. “I do not want my children sexually educated by the government. They need to be teaching our kids’ education, not indoctrination.” He highlighted the need to protect women's rights, asking Luxon to ensure that biological men do not compete in women's sports and remain out of female bathrooms.
Regarding abortion laws, Tamaki argued that New Zealand has the most extreme abortion laws globally and called for the urgent repeal of the Abortion Legislation Act 2020. He challenged Luxon to fulfill his statement about making more babies to improve the economy by repealing these extreme abortion laws.
Tamaki concluded his speech by advocating for parental rights, emphasizing that parents should have the final say in their children's lives. He expressed concern that schools can provide contraception or access to abortion without parental consent.
In response to these pressing issues, Freedoms NZ has pledged to preserve and protect the next generation, restore traditional family values, enshrine parental rights, remove the transgender agenda from schools, repeal the extreme abortion law, and let parents be parents.
Parents across the nation are encouraged to support Freedoms NZ by voting for their values, ensuring the safety and well-being of their children.
